Content Providers
Content providers are academic institutions, non-profit organisations, portals, etc. that provide training materials of relevance to high energy physics. HEP Training can then automatically "harvest" training materials of a specific website / portal.
If you are unsure whether you can be a content provider, we warmly welcome you to contact us.

The group works with experiment training groups, HEP initiatives (such as IRIS-HEP and FIRST-HEP) and organisations like Software Carpentry to coordinate training activities. The group aims to develop a training program that can be pursued by researchers to achieve the level of required knowledge. This ranges from basic core software skills needed by everyone to the advanced training required by specialists in software and computing. /system/content_providers/images/000/000/001/original/hsf-logo-no-text.webp?1758123986 -

Our first significant releases of proton-proton collision data were made available in [in 2016 for 8 TeV collisions](https://cds.cern.ch/record/2624572/files/ATL-OREACH-PUB-2018-001.pdf) and later [in 2020 for 13 TeV collisions](https://cds.cern.ch/record/2707171/files/ANA-OTRC-2019-01-PUB-updated.pdf). In 2024, ATLAS began to release Open Data for the purpose of scientific research, with [13 TeV proton-proton collisions](https://atlas.cern/Updates/News/Open-Data-Research) followed by the first [release of Heavy Ion collision data](https://atlas.cern/Updates/News/Heavy-Ion-Open-Data). Several new releases are underway, including an [updated, four-times-larger release of Open Data for Education and Outreach](https://opendata.atlas.cern/docs/data/for_education/13TeV25_details) and the first release of [event generation output](https://opendata.atlas.cern/docs/data/for_research/evgen_data) to support theoretical and phenomenological research. # Our Mission The ATLAS experiment at CERN generates large, rich, and unique datasets from high-energy proton and heavy-ion collisions within its detector, using them to explore the fundamental properties of particles in the Universe. The ATLAS Collaboration is committed to the progressive release of its data for public use, aiming to support educational initiatives, foster citizen science, and enhance the potential for scientific research. /system/content_providers/images/000/000/010/original/atlas_logo.png?1763994025 -

HSF-India aims to join collaborative networks in India to networks in the U.S. and Europe in order to build the international research software collaborations required to reach the science goals of next-generation particle, nuclear and astroparticle physics experiments including the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider at CERN, the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment at Fermilab, and the Electron Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory. To fully realize their discovery potential a new generation of software algorithms and approaches is required. Building these research software collaborations is challenging and inherently international matching the international nature of the experimental undertakings themselves. HSF-India will provide students, postdocs and early career personnel significant experience in international team science through engagement in a diverse research community. /system/content_providers/images/000/000/008/original/hsf-india.png?1763989048 -

Every day, thousands of physicists use ROOT applications to analyze their data or to perform simulations. Our strategic goal is to provide a unified software package for the storage, processing, visualisation and analysis of scientific data that is reliable, performant, supported, and sustainable that is easy to use and obtain, and that minimises the computing resources needed to achieve scientific results. The success of experiments and all ROOT users at large is our priority.
